What is Healthy Made Delicious?

Healthy Made Delicious is a recipe library where you can find delicious healthy recipes made with natural, whole food ingredients.

Why did you start this blog?

I started this blog to share tasty recipes that are packed full of nutrition, share our whole food plant based journey and to squash the stigma that eating healthy is boring and just a bunch of salads.

I am here to tell you that is not the case. You’d be surprised at the benefits you can gain from a healthy, whole food lifestyle. Learn More

What social media platforms can I follow you on?

I am currently on Instagram, Pinterest, and Facebook with plans to expand onto YouTube. Each platform has its own unique posts, so follow me on each so you don’t miss an update!

How often do you add new recipes?

I try to add recipes 2 to 3 times a week. So be sure to come back often and check out the new recipes.

If you want to see behind the scenes and get notified of new recipes to try or what I am working on, be sure to following me on my social media so you don’t miss out on any of the fun and delicious goodness.

Where do you get your recipes?

Most I create on my own and others I am inspired by recipes that I come across.

I credit where the inspiration comes from, but I also like to take favorites that I grew up with and turn them into healthier versions.

Then there are those times when inspiration hits and it just pops into my head. One of my favorite things to do is to come up with stuff on the fly with random ingredients. Most of the time it works out…there are those other times…..well let’s just not go there….LOL!

I have an idea for a recipe that I think you will love as much as I do. How can I submit it to you to try?

You can email me the recipe to try and if it is a success, you might just find it featured on my blog (with credit of course)!

Do I have to follow your recipe exactly or can I make substitutions?

NO-ish! Luckily, savory cooking is very fluid and you can easily make changes or substitutions without causing to many problems. Substitutions may change the texture and overall flavorings, but I strongly encourage you to play with the ingredients and flavors.

Use the recipe as a guide to get you started and experiment away. If your experiment works out, I would love to hear about what changes you made and how it turned out. Even if it doesn’t work out, maybe a bit of feedback and collaboration could also help you.

I made your recipe and love it! How can I share it with you?

I love to see and celebrate your successes. If you would like share your experience and excitement, here are a few ways you can:
1 – Share pictures on Instagram or other social media platforms using #HealthyMadeDelicious.
2 – Rate the recipe you loved. This not only lets me know that you enjoyed it, but also lets other readers know that the recipe is good and recommended by others. They don’t have to just take my word for it 🙂 .
3 – Leave a comment below the recipe. Share your story and what you thought of the recipe. I love feedback and it not only allows me make even better recipes, but also understand what you want to see.

I tried one of your recipes and it didn’t work. What did I do wrong?

There are many reasons why a recipe didn’t work. When I went to culinary school, we all had the same recipe, but there was still variations to the flavors and some just didn’t work. So how does that happen?

Could be the time that you sautéed ingredients, or amount of toast you have on your spices, if you toasted them, incorrectly measuring/fluctuation in measuring out ingredients, not/over seasoning your ingredients as you cook or during the final adjustment prior to serving, and the list goes on.

As you can see there is no one answer, to savory cooking. The good news is that savory cooking is pretty forgiving. Taste as you cook to identify any problems that may be occurring before you get to the end. Read and reread the recipe to make sure you have a full understanding of the steps. Unless you are comfortable with experimenting and cooking, follow the steps in order of the recipe. Sometimes order matters.

Now baking on the other hand….that’s a whole different story! Measurements are important as it is more of a science so try to get your measurements as accurate as possible. Keep in mind that conversion from one type of flour to another is not always 1:1. So if you want to substitute ingredients in baking be sure to research the correct ratio so you have the best chance of success of the recipe.
